Jolien Gekiere

Jolien, originally from Belgium, has been a core member of the Hightide team since 2019! Between seasons, she has regularly taken time off to travel and further develop her kayaking expertise, including sea kayaking in England and the breathtaking Lofoten Islands. Today, she brings this enhanced knowledge as a Senior Guide and a key member of our Coaching Team, where she oversees many of our specialized weekend courses.

Her heart also beats for the next generation: Jolien is heavily involved with the local KKBEO Kids Club. She regularly teaches local kids the joy and necessary safety of paddling on the lake and river. She is simply brilliant at fostering young talent!

When Jolien isn't on the water, she continues her adventures in nature: whether it's camping in the mountains, taking to the air with paragliding, or carving the slopes while snowboarding. Her versatility and contagious positive energy make her an inspiring part of the Hightide team.
