Originally from Yorkshire in the North of England I have found myself in Switzerland via London and the French Alps. Having worked in London across many industries from Politics and Press departments to managing several pubs I took the plunge and took a job in the French Alps for a Winter. As with so many of us – both in the mountains generally and even within Team Hightide – my plan to return to my old life after a single season proved impossible.
After two years in France I moved to Switzerland in November 2020 and haven’t looked back. Most of my time in France and much of my first year in Switzerland has been spent working in kitchens, skiing and downhill mountain biking. Living in such an amazing place and having such incredible access to beautiful surroundings has really allowed me to reconnect with nature and the outdoors in a way that I had unfortunately lost whilst sitting in my cubicle in London.
With all of this in mind, when I first visited Hightide and later met more and more of the team I knew straight away that this was somewhere I wanted to work. In the Winter I split my time between Kayaking with Hightide and as a Ski Instructor in Wengen and Grindelwald.
I really love our incredible little corner of Switzerland and whether it is on the Lake or up in the Mountains it is a real privilege to be able to share this passion for the outdoors with everyone who comes through our doors.
