Our Trainee Guide Scheme

About Hightide

Working at hightide is not just a job, it’s joining a team of like-minded people, who love what they do, love being outside and who want to make a living in the outdoors. We want to be inspired by the company, the team and the people we meet along the way and share our enthusiasm for the outdoors and our region with our guests. We see our role as developing the sport, the outdoor community and to educate and operate in a way that reflects social responsibility and protecting the environment.

Each of our team plays a vital role within hightide, from the most junior to the most experienced guide, whether cleaning, working in the kitchen or in the office. No one person or single job is more important than another and when we all take pride in what we do, we will achieve our aim of creating that great customer experience we strive for and in making the Beach in Bönigen the destination where people just want to be.

Becoming a Guide

We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world and the trips we run are often said by our guests to be the highlight of their trip in Europe. With our trainee guide scheme we provide an opportunity for people to enter and grow within the outdoor industry, to work in “the Adventure Capital of Europe” and be part of a group of people that are easy going and team orientated. It’s not straightforward making a living from the outdoors but here at hightide we offer an opportunity to get started, to strike a unique balance between work and play and to be part of a dynamic, supportive and motivated team.

Our Trainee scheme is a great opportunity to take your first steps in the Outdoor Industry, gaining qualifications, training, and guiding experience. Training takes place throughout the season to develop personal, group management and leadership skills. Qualifications that we work towards include:
British Canoeing (BC) Paddlesport Leader
