Lake Lucerne Improver Weekend

Our Improver Weekends are aimed at paddlers who have tried it before and who want to explore some of the most beautiful corners of Switzerland whilst further developing your skills.

On our Improver Weekend trips we paddle around 15 km per day for 2 days. We start the weekend on Saturday morning but often meet up already on Friday evening for a drink or dinner as most of us tend to stay at the campsite or nearby.

What to expect

Lake Lucerne or Vierwaldstättersee is a jewel in central Switzerland with its variety of arms and uninterrupted dreamlike mountain scenery, dramatic cliffs and history central to Switzerland itself. Our two days uncover a good portion of the lake with a start in Weggis in the central part of the lake and a journey down towards Brunnen where we spend the night.  The second day for the most dramatic part of the lake, Urnersee. This part of Lake Lucerne is remote, wild and incredibly beautiful, and when the weather conditions allow we make a circular trip exploring its wonder, and experiencing the often rough conditions that the lake provides.

Typical Itinerary

After our meet in Brunnen, we transfer to our paddling start point at Weggis, Lützelau (If travelling by public transport you can meet us directly here). We then spend the first day paddling between Weggis and Brunnen and the second day on Urnersee.

It is possible that the itinerary changes due to wind conditions and if so we'll let you know latest the day before the trip.
