For those wanting a longer trip out on the lake, the kayak tour on the mountain lake of ‘Brienzersee’ or Lake Brienz really showcases the best of what our region has to offer. Starting in Brienz, our journey along the whole length of this glacial mountain lake takes us past towering cliffs, the famous Giessbach falls and the pretty village of Iseltwald. The lake, known for it’s quiet nature, is far away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life allowing you to just switch off and enjoy being close to nature.

Experienced coach with small group sizes (6:1 ratio of clients to coach), top quality equipment including neoprenes and jackets if needed, photograph package of your time with us on the lake.
Our tours are well suited for beginners as well as for non-swimmers, you do not need to have previous experience. Minimum age 12 years. For families with children in the age of 5-12 years we recommend our Family Fun tours.
Swimming wear, a quick drying t-shirt for under the wetsuit, sunglasses, sunhat, sun cream, footwear to be worn in the water (crocs for example), change of clothes, drinks and snacks.

If you are staying in Interlaken, Hightide Kayak School is a short bus ride away (no. 103, direction Iseltwald). This bus is free with your guest card and runs every 30 minutes from Interlaken Ost or West. Alternatively, if you would prefer to drive there is free parking situated behind the Hotel Seiler au Lac next door to our office.
If you are feeling active, it is also possible to take a short 30 minute walk from Interlaken Ost along the river to our base in Bönigen.

Please note that our courses and tours run in all weather conditions provided that it is safe to paddle. Often the weather is better than forecast and part of the charm of our sport is experiencing nature in all the elements - even on a rainy day, the views and atmosphere are beautiful and dramatic. We pride ourselves on having top quality equipment, including Palm wetsuits and high-end paddle jackets to ensure that you are warm and happy whatever the weather. If conditions are unsafe to paddle in we aim to notify you as soon as the decision has been made and we will try to re-schedule for the soonest opportunity.
Please note that bookings are subject to our terms and conditions and cancellation policy. We recommend that you have an insurance policy to cover the course costs in case of illness or medical problems. Swiss residents can purchase annual AXA cancellation insurance at the time of booking.
