Our Giessbach Falls half day tour starts in the town of Brienz on the other side of the lake from Interlaken. We start the paddle from the south-east corner of the lake and paddle along the beautiful cliffs on the southern shore. The highlight of the tour is our stop by the magnificient Giessbach waterfalls. Your guide will offer instruction on how to develop your paddling skills and will also capture your experience with lots of photos to show to your friends and family back home. Tour ends at the beautiful old wood-carving village of Brienz.
It is possible to start and finish the tour in Brienz if you wish so, we can bring the gear for you, just let us know when booking. The session lasts 4 hours (3 hours if you start and finish in Brienz) of which we spend around 2-2,5 hours on the water. A shuttle from our base in Bönigen to Brienz and back is included. Starting time from Brienz is half an hour later than the start in Bönigen.

Experienced coach with small group sizes (6:1 ratio of clients to coach), top quality equipment including neoprenes and jackets if needed, photograph package of your time with us on the lake and a shuttle from Bönigen to Brienz and back.
Our tours are well suited for beginners as well as for non-swimmers, you do not need to have previous experience. Minimum age 12 years. For families with children in the age of 5-12 years we recommend our Family Fun tours.
Swimming wear, a quick drying t-shirt for under the wetsuit, sunglasses, sunhat, sun cream, footwear to be worn in the water (flip flops or quick-drying sneakers for example), change of clothes, drinks and snacks.

If you are staying in Interlaken, Hightide Kayak School is a short bus ride away (no. 103, direction Iseltwald). This bus is free with your guest card and runs every 30 minutes from Interlaken Ost or West. Alternatively, if you would prefer to drive, there is free parking situated behind the Hotel Seiler au Lac next door to our office.
If you are feeling active, it is also possible to take a short 30 minute walk from Interlaken Ost along the river to our base in Bönigen.
If you wish to start in Brienz our meeting point there is the Brienz Lido.
Please note that our courses and tours run in all weather conditions provided that it is safe to paddle. Often the weather is better than forecast and part of the charm of our sport is experiencing nature in all the elements - even on a rainy day, the views and atmosphere are beautiful and dramatic. We pride ourselves on having top quality equipment, including Palm wetsuits and high-end paddle jackets to ensure that you are warm and happy whatever the weather. If conditions are unsafe to paddle in we aim to notify you as soon as the decision has been made and we will try to re-schedule for the soonest opportunity.
Please note that bookings are subject to our terms and conditions and cancellation policy. We recommend that you have an insurance policy to cover the course costs in case of illness or medical problems. Swiss residents can purchase annual AXA cancellation insurance at the time of booking.
