Sea Kayak Skills Day

Lake Brienz - Bönigen

Description

During this introductory day we aim to build upon your existing skills so that you leave the day well on your way to become a competent paddler with excellent knowledge of the essential techniques.

We spend the first half of the morning practicing our paddling technique, looking at efficient forward paddling, turning strokes, and much more. Once we begin to feel a little more confident we head across the beautiful turquoise water towards the village of Ringgenberg where we stop for lunch. After a stretch of our legs, we begin to make our way back across the lake where we can re-visit our paddling techniques and, time depending, we can address basic rescue techniques before a well-earned rest.

We run the majority of our introductory sea kayak courses from our base in Bönigen on Lake Brienz. There is great access to our meeting point via public transport (103 bus from Interlaken Ost) or car - there is free parking behind the Hotel Seiler au Lac. With Lake Brienz’s spectacular turquoise water and stunning mountain scenery it’s well worth making the trip to the area. The course day starts at 9.15am and ends at 4.15pm. Should you have any further requests or require additional information please feel free to contact us.

We pride ourselves on having top quality equipment, including Palm wetsuits and high-end paddle jackets to ensure that you are warm and happy whatever the weather. If conditions are unsafe to paddle in we aim to notify you as soon as the decision has been made and we will try to re-schedule for the soonest opportunity.
