Our rapid development kayaking programme is designed to give you a quick start into the field and working with Dave on a 2:1 guide ratio, we will give you a thorough grounding in all the techniques in Sea Kayaks and white water kayaks. We will work to develop a roll and give full training in safety & rescue techniques. By the end of the course, you should have completed the 2star award and also be well into training for the 3star white water and touring awards, the sign of the competent intermediate paddler. The opportunity for to go for 3star assessments will also be available along with the Foundation Safety & Rescue Certificate, giving you the prerequisites to enter the coaching programme at Level 1 and continue onto the Level 2 scheme. The kayak fast track rapid development clinic gives a great starting platform to enter the sport, giving confidence and experience to enable to go out on your own and enjoy what we all love about the sport. Experienced BCU coach in Sea, Surf & White Water Kayak, the course is a combination of 2:1 ratio and joining in our normal group programme with 5days on the water per week, top quality equipment including neoprenes and jackets if needed and use during the whole course period including days off.
No prior experience is necessary
Any paddling or watersports gear you have, swimming clothes, warm clothes, sunglasses, sunhat, suncream, footwear that you can get wet, change of clothes, packed lunch, drinks and snacks. A full course list will be sent upon booking.
Please note that our courses and tours run in all weather that is safe for us to paddle in. Often the weather is better than predicted and part of the charm of our sport is experiencing nature with all its faces and even on a rainy day, the views and atmosphere can be beautiful and dramatic. We pride ourselves on having top quality equipment, including Palm longjohn wetsuits and high end paddle jackets to ensure you’re warm and happy whatever the weather. If conditions are unsafe to paddle in we will notify with as much notice as we can.
