2 Star

2 Star Preparation

Description

The weekend is designed to set you off with all the strokes you need to efficiently move your boat around or if you already have some experience to fine tune your skills to become an independent paddler and go for the certification. We follow the BCU 2 Star syllabus covering all the interdisciplinary skills in sea kayak, river kayak and open canoe. Completion of the 2 Star Award takes you from the beginner level to a competent flat water paddler with all the essential skills to take you into moving water, whether on rivers, on the sea or in the surf. At our disposal we have performance equipment including top British design fibreglass sea kayaks, high end white water spec river boats and open canoes.

We run the course over two weekends, giving you time to practice in between, but the option also exists to join just the training assessment weekend if you have prior experience.

Prerequisites

Some paddling experience / completion of a beginner course and some further consolidation. Feel free to call us if you’d like any further information.

2 Star Training & Assessment

Description

This weekend is the second part of our 2 Star Award. Although it is designed for those who have already attended the first weekend, if you have sufficient prior experience, it may be possible to join for the assessment weekend only - please get in touch to discuss this if you think this may be applicable to you.

As before, we follow the BCU 2 Star syllabus covering all the interdisciplinary skills in sea kayak, river kayak and open canoe.

The second weekend builds on the first one, so while there is still new material to cover, we will also spend time revisiting items already covered to practice and fine tune them.

Prerequisites

Some paddling experience / completion of a beginner course and some further consolidation. Feel free to call us if you’d like any further information.
